1 Market Place has been a tailors and outfitters ever since it was built in about 1840 and we are
proud to be carrying on that tradition.
WHITES OF WENSLEYDALE
Whites of Wensleydale is located at 1 Market Place, Hawes in stunning Wensleydale. We bought the business in 2017 and we chose to continue with the name of the previous owner who ran the business successfully for 28 years.
His daughter still works in the shop and when we took over with very little knowledge of fashion or retail her advice and expertise was invaluable.

LOCAL AREA
The market town of Hawes is a magnet for walkers and tourists alike. It is home to the Wensleydale Creamery, famous for its cheese, and close to spectacular landmarks such as the Buttertubs Pass, Aysgarth Falls and Hardraw Force – the highest single drop waterfall in England.
The area is also one of the few places in Britain where the red squirrel thrives.
